Trend duration can be a useful measure for estimating the likelihood of a price reversal. One might also note that certain price patterns are likely to occur after a long trend.
Byware Group has devised a way to measure trend duration by taking a composite index of various “trend fractals”. The longer the trend, the more these fractals add up to a bigger value.
